MY STORY


Where It All Began

As a third generation realtor, my passion for real estate came naturally and started early. My grandmother (the coolest person I’ll likely ever know), was a magnate in the real estate industry long before women were even welcome in it. I remember going on a listing appointment with her as a child. Being invited into a stranger’s home and watching her walk through and impart wisdom. I loved the way her clients looked at her. They trusted her and hung on her every word (even if they wished she said it a tad bit gentler). I remember thinking how smart she was. How lucky they were to have her to help them.

Fast forward 20 years. Now I was being invited into stranger's homes as a Paramedic and Field Training Officer for Toronto EMS. I learned patience. Lots and lots of patience. How to not just listen, but to actually hear. That not everyone has the same ability to cope or problem solve. How to solve any problem - 10 different ways in 15 seconds or less. I negotiated people off the ledge - literally. But most of all I learned how to empathize with others. It was always assumed I’d follow in my grandmother’s footsteps and become a realtor. After 15 years of working long days, longer nights, heartache and back pain, I finally decided to do it.

Paramedicine had taught me how to thrive under pressure, deadlines and sleep deprivation. I saw people in untenable situations. Victims of abuse, crime and circumstance. But what bothered me the most were the ones that had no advocate. No one to fight for them. To direct them or help them navigate the system. The ones the system had left behind to fend for themselves. So I would fight. Fight for treatment sooner. A dryer bed, a change of clothes, another test. I fought for better care. Better results.

I offered guidance, wisdom and advice. I mastered helping people in the most stressful moments of their lives. I developed the art of guiding them. Guiding them through the misinformation and their own dark fears. Guiding them into the light of making the decisions that were best for them and their family.

Transitioning my skills from paramedic to realtor was almost seamless as the parallels were plenty. My success in real estate has come from a blend of skill, on-going training and an inate sense of what clients need. An authentic honest approach. Keen business sense. Uncompromising integrity. All help me to ensure that my client’s expectations are not merely met, they are exceeded. Every time. All the time. Promise less. Deliver more. I’m not a salesperson. I’m an advocate. A fighter. An adviser. That hasn’t changed. But now I push for a better deal or better protections for my clients. I help them navigate the system. I offer experience and wisdom to my clients until they look at me the way they looked at my grandmother so long ago.

The rest as they say is history. I’ve built a booming business that thrives on word of mouth. You won’t see my face on a gigantic billboard because it’s not about me. And if you have patience, genuinely care, know your stuff, tell hard truths and provide a service that far surpasses anything the competition can touch. You don’t need to.
